Bristol-based experimental psych-rockers My Octopus Mind have dropped their latest track, ‘Sabretooth Monkey’. Their wild blend of sounds is defined by a post-punk swagger, permeated by hauntingly graceful moments of melody, wonky riffs and Balkan rhythms. The track is grounded by a fantastic bass line, courtesy of Isaac Ellis and his beautifully effected double bass, and reaches its peak during a chaotically atonal guitar solo. On the track they say: “We think you the listener should befriend a llama, buy a motorbike and take to the open road, drink diesel for breakfast, and headbutt a seagull. I'm a Sabretooth Monkay baby now get your hands off my stash.” The four-piece have announced the release of their third album, Trying To Be Normal, on November 3rd, 2023. -Dan Peeke
